Storm Instructor Lilia Prepares for the WKKC World Championships in Spain
Two months of dedicated training, learning from world-class fighters preparing to represent England on the world stage.
At Storm Family Martial Arts, we’re incredibly proud of our instructor and apprentice, Lilia Matthias, who is preparing to represent England at the WKKC World Championships in Cádiz, Spain, during the week commencing 25th October.
The five-day international event will bring together talented martial artists from around the world, and Lilia has been working hard to ensure she is ready for the challenge.
Learning from the very best
As part of her preparation, Lilia has spent the past two months training with highly experienced kickboxer Jacey Cashman and his team, The Wolf Pack.
Jacey has competed at the highest levels of the sport, with an impressive competitive background that includes major British, European and world-level achievements. His Wolf Pack team is home to numerous accomplished fighters, including British, European and World Champions.
We wanted to give Lilia the opportunity to experience a different training environment, work alongside elite-level competitors and benefit from Jacey’s extensive experience as she fine-tunes her preparation for the biggest competition of her career so far.
At Storm, we believe great coaching is about continually looking for ways to help our students and athletes improve. Bringing in additional expertise and exposing our fighters to different training partners and perspectives is an important part of that process.
A huge thank you to Jacey and everyone at The Wolf Pack for welcoming Lilia, sharing their knowledge and helping her prepare for Spain. The support is hugely appreciated.
A fantastic achievement for Lilia
Lilia has worked incredibly hard to earn her place representing England. Alongside her role as a full-time instructor at Storm, she has continued to develop as a competitive kickboxer, gaining valuable experience and achieving success at national-level tournaments.
Being selected for the England team is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment, determination and dedication she has shown throughout her martial arts journey.
As a coach and mentor, it’s especially rewarding to see Lilia continuing to push herself, embrace new challenges and learn from other experienced people within the sport.
More than medals
At Storm Family Martial Arts, our philosophy has always been about more than winning trophies.
Our Developing Champions For Life programme is built around helping people develop confidence, discipline, determination, resilience and the belief that they can achieve more than they might initially think possible.
Lilia’s journey is a brilliant example of those values in action. She is continually learning, stepping outside her comfort zone and putting in the work required to pursue her goals.
These are the qualities we want to develop in every member of the Storm family, whether they are taking their very first martial arts class or preparing to compete on the world stage.
Next stop: Cádiz, Spain!
With the WKKC World Championships just around the corner, Lilia will soon have the opportunity to put all her hard work and preparation into practice against some of the best competitors in the world.
Everyone at Storm Family Martial Arts is incredibly proud of her and will be cheering her on as she represents England.
Good luck, Lilia! Enjoy every moment, trust your preparation and give it everything you’ve got.
We’re proud of you. Now go and make it count! 🥊🇬🇧🇪🇸
