No Alcohol
Storm is a family-centred environment. Alcohol is strictly prohibited and may not be consumed on site.
No Smoking or Vaping On or Anywhere Near The Academy
Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on or near the premises, including the car park. As positive role models, no Storm student should ever see anyone smoking or vaping on or near any Storm location. This helps us maintain a healthy and respectful environment for all our families.
Phone Calls During Class
Please do not make or answer phone calls on mobile devices during class. This helps keep the environment focused and respectful for all students and instructors.
Electronic Devices. Please use headphones
If you or anyone in your family wishes to watch or listen to an electronic device please use headphones.
Please Keep Noise to a Minimum During Class
When an instructor is teaching, we kindly ask parents and guardians not to have conversations in the training area. It’s important that students can hear their instructor clearly and stay focused.
Siblings Watching Classes
Siblings who are watching family members train must be supervised and remain quiet during the class to avoid distracting the students and instructors.
Toilet Supervision:
Children in our Dragons group must be accompanied to the toilet by their parent or guardian.
If your child is in the Tigers group and needs the toilet:
- If you (the parent/guardian) are present, you must accompany them.
- If you are not present, your child must ask permission from an instructor before leaving the training area.
- In line with our safeguarding policy, two staff members will be involved: one will stand at the toilet door, and another will observe that staff member from a distance. No child can visit the toilet unsupervised.
Tigers Student Collection
All Tigers students, regardless of age, must be collected from inside the academy by their parent or guardian. Tigers are not permitted to walk home or to the car park alone.
Car Park Safety
For everyone’s safety, please avoid lingering or socialising in the car park after class. Even supervised children have been known to run into the car park unexpectedly while adults are chatting. A prompt and mindful departure helps us keep all students safe.
Respect for Property
Please respect the property of other students and parents by refraining from touching anything that does not belong to you, including vehicles in the car park. This helps us maintain a safe and courteous environment for all families. Please also respect the school locations, for example take your litter home with you.
No Nuts Policy
All school locations used by Storm operate a strict ‘No Nuts’ policy. Please do not bring any nuts or snacks containing nuts to classes or events to keep our academy safe for students with allergies.
No Dogs Allowed
All school locations used by Storm Family Martial Arts have a ‘No Dogs’ policy at all times, including after official school hours.
Positive Support
Please be positive, encouraging and enthusiastic at all times. Your attitude has a huge influence on your child’s motivation and mindset. However, please do not attempt to instruct or correct your child’s technique from the sidelines during class. Our instructors often allow children time to explore and figure things out independently, especially kinaesthetic learners who benefit from hands-on discovery.
Respect for Instructors and Staff
Our team is dedicated to helping your child grow in confidence, skill, and character. Please treat all instructors and staff with courtesy and respect, in person and online.
Punctuality & Attendance
Arrive on time for drop-off and collection. Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality support your child’s progress and commitment.
At-Home Practice
Support your child in practising their martial arts at home. Supervised training builds confidence and helps reinforce class learning.
Self-Defence Outside the Academy
Please remind your child that the key message for self defence is to simply walk away and tell an adult. Fighting at school or in public may result in removal from Storm. Key strategies for self defence is to avoid places where trouble is likely to be found. Walk away if you see it coming. Use communication skills to de-escalate if confronted. And walk away even if it turns physical to find a teacher, parent or responsible adult to report it.
Communication & Feedback
We welcome respectful feedback and open conversation. If you have a concern or question, please speak with us directly and privately — we’re here to help.
