Thank you to Thames Valley Learning Partnership for inviting us to be a part of their Student Independence Day at St Joseph’s Catholic High School in Slough.
Their aims as an organisation are to:
-Provide collaborative and informative experiences for secondary-aged students across a range of subjects, thereby providing a variety of learning opportunities and diversity in social and cultural engagement.
-Ensure that staff across our schools are able to share their passion for their specialist subjects and good practice with one another, and exchange views about current educational issues.
11 local schools in the Thames Valley area are part of this amazing partnership:
Eton College

Storm Family Martial Arts provided 3 workshops for attendees on Street Self Defence. All techniques were taken from our Fight SMART System syllabus.
Thank you to all the pupils who attended our workshops. It was great to meet you and we were delighted to receive such wonderful feedback about the sessions.
As part of our adult Martial Arts programme at Storm Family Martial Arts, all of our Black Belt candidates must undertake a charity or community project in their final year from Brown to Black Belt as part of their testing. The Storm Instructor Team are always looking for ways that we can give back to the community at events such as this so we can demonstrate to our students that we lead by example.
We really enjoyed our experience of working with the Thames Valley Learning Partnership and look forward to the next event where our Chief Instructor will be a Dragon on their version of Dragons Den where students from all the schools above will come together to work in teams to pitch new business ideas.
