Dear Parents & Guardians,
In March we will be working on the character lesson: CARING.
Children show signs of caring and empathy at a very young age. Caring is not just a way of feeling, it’s a way of behaving.
This month’s lesson plans will help teach our students that what makes us caring people is DOING caring things.
You can help support the lessons by reinforcing this behavior at home. Support your child in their efforts to become more caring this month. Below are some tips on how to compliment the lessons we teach about caring this month:
- Give your child extra hugs and let them know how much you care about them
- Show your child how to care for their younger siblings, pets, plants or toys
- Show your child how to care for others with random acts of kindness to others
- Lead by example by showing your child you keep your home neat and tidy so they can maintain a
‘Black Belt Bedroom’ too
Be sure to point out when you see caring behaviors displayed at home. Acknowledging them when they demonstrate this behavior and explaining the benefits of it is the best way to build this skill.
